North Korea

North Korea is the world’s only dictatorship worshipped as dynasty and deity. It has one of the worst human rights records in the world.

In a country in which those who speak out are severely punished, the information the world hears does not reflect the true gravity of the situation.  Citizens must give unswerving obedience to the regime and those who dissent face severe punishment, including imprisonment in labour camps.  This, coupled with the chronic food shortages, forces many to flee the country, despite the grave perils which face them if caught.

The persecution of religious believers in North Korea ranks as one of the worst in the world.
Religious persecution has wiped out virtually all religious believers.   Christianity has been described by defectors as public enemy number one.  Any Christian discovered will be sent to prison camps where they can face execution.

Most North Koreans have never heard met a Christian or seen a church or Bible. North Koreans are brought up to believe that Christians are deranged and often only know them by the term ‘crazy people’.

With a new leadership comes the hope that the regime will stop the violent oppression of its people.
