Pastor Nadarkhani receives worldwide support  01/05/2012

As you may have observed, Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, who is facing execution in Iran for apostasy, has received increasing support from around the world in the past few months.

Concern for his situation peaked once again in March after rumours of his execution spread across the internet. Thankfully, CSW was able to confirm with contacts that the rumours were false and that his wife was in fact visiting him at the time he was allegedly executed. Since then we’ve seen an unprecedented swell of support for the pastor, with his case being raised during the March session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva by the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran and by a number of delegations.

Endorsed by 24-7 Prayer’s Pete Greig, Premier Radio and the World Evangelical Alliance Religious Liberty Commission, CSW’s prayer month for Pastor Nadarkhani saw Christians and churches around the world uniting in prayer for the pastor, his family, and for others in Iran who are suffering repression.

Please keep praying, not only for Pastor Nadarkhani, but also for other Christians in prison in Iran. Pray also that his case would put the issue of religious freedom in Iran firmly on the international agenda.
