Support the CSW team running the race for freedom on 15 April!  01/03/2012

We’d love you to join us at the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 15 April to cheer on a team of ten CSW supporters running to raise vital funds for CSW. Here’s why Jonathan, one member of the running team, felt moved to take on the challenge:

“I’ve been learning more in recent months that for many Christians around the globe, there is no such thing as a ‘normal’ life. They face persecution on a daily basis. Whatever the recession may have done, we have such an easy life in comparison here in the UK. We can walk to Church on a Sunday, no questions asked. No risk of being sacked for being a Christian at work.

Bill Hybels argues that the local Church is the hope of the world. The local Church includes the Church in countries where being a Christian is hard. It involves my brothers and sisters in Christ who are crying out each day for food and peace simply for professing the truth - that Jesus Christ is Lord of their life. Suddenly running a marathon (or two) seems more like a stroll in the park…”

Even if you’re not a marathon runner yourself, you can still be part of the race for freedom by cheering on the team or making a donation to support their fundraising efforts.
