Jonathan Aitken CSWs new President

Jonathan Aitken CSWs new President

CSW is delighted to announce Jonathan Aitken as our new President. As a former Cabinet Minister and war correspondent Jonathan brings with him a wealth of experience in both politics and the media. As a regular speaker across the denominational spectrum, Jonathan enjoys wide recognition and support in the Church. In the last few years his reflective writings on the Psalms and his autobiographical work have established him as a popular Christian writer.

Jonathan is no stranger to the work of CSW. Many years ago, CSW's Chief Executive, Mervyn Thomas, became prayer partners with Jonathan, a relationship which has blossomed to become a great source of encouragement to both sides. Through Mervyn, Jonathan became actively involved in the work of CSW, accompanying us on visits to China and Laos and speaking on our behalf on many occasions.

As a new year approaches, CSW supporters will see Jonathan taking a much more public role, bringing Christian persecution around the world into the limelight. We would like to welcome Jonathan to the CSW family and pray for God's blessing on all his work. We hope that CSW supporters all over the world will join us in celebrating this wonderful news.

A New Patron

CSW is pleased that our previous President, Baroness Cox, will be continuing her association with CSW in the role of Patron. Baroness Cox had stepped down as President of CSW to concentrate on the work of her own charity, HART. CSW supporters will be more than aware of Baroness Cox's dedication to the victims of human rights abuses, particularly the persecuted Church. Her willingness to travel the world and speak up tirelessly on their behalf has earned her a significant international profile. CSW would like to thank Baroness Cox for her hard work and dedication over the years and wish her every blessing in her new role as CSW's patron.

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) is a human rights organisation which specialises in religious freedom, works on behalf of those persecuted for their Christian beliefs and promotes religious liberty for all.
