Prayer events 03/09/2006
As a Christian charity, we consider prayer to be our most effective weapon to instigate change in the world. The book of James teaches us that the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Through prayer we are fulfilling our promise to the persecuted, demonstrating true solidarity with those who suffer because of their faith. Each year, CSW hosts various prayer events, inviting supporters to share in our work.
Past prayer days
So far, CSW has run prayer days for Burma, Eritrea and North Korea in 2006. Give thanks to God for the hard work of staff and supporters in organising these events and pray that those who attended would be inspired to continue praying for these countries.
Speakers
Over recent years, figures such as Jonathan Aitken, Dr Berhane Asmelash and the Rev John Ameobi have spoken to supporters about the persecuted Church. Thank God for those people who make time in their busy schedules to speak at CSW prayer days. Pray that they would view their efforts as a worthy investment.
Daily devotions
Every morning CSW staff gather together for a time of reflection and prayer. Please pray for guidance and wisdom for those leading devotions. Ask that our prayers will be effective as we seek to serve each other and the Lord.
Future prayer days
Later this year CSW will be running prayer days for Colombia, India and Nigeria. Pray that all the preparations for these events will run smoothly, and ask for God’s blessing on all three days. For more information on upcoming prayer days, please call 020 8329 0031 or email janebave@csw.org.uk.
IDoP
On Sunday 19 November, CSW will join with other organisations and churches around the world to celebrate the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Pray that despite limited resources, CSW will be able to equip supporters effectively for this event. Pray that the needs of the persecuted Church will be raised throughout churches in the UK.
Supporters
Give thanks for the many supporters who are able to regularly attend CSW prayer events. Praise God for their enthusiasm and commitment in serving the persecuted Church.
Intercession >>>
Heavenly Father, we thank You that we are free to meet together to celebrate and worship You. We ask that each one of our prayers would be answered in Your good time. Please give us the wisdom to know how best to pray for our suffering family, and teach us the true meaning of Christian solidarity with them as well as with each other.
“Before they call, I will answer, and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24
