Colombia  19/09/2010

Sunday

God of the Nations, as we gather to worship You today, we remember Your church in the nation of Colombia and pray for unity of spirit that You would strengthen and protect Your people there.

Monday

We pray for all Christians in Colombia as they seek to be salt and light within their respective communities. May Your light overcome the darkness.

Tuesday

Today, on the International Day of Peace, pray to the Prince of Peace for an end to the conflict and to all illegal armed groups for all His people in Colombia.

Wednesday

Pray for Colombia’s newly-elected President as he takes on his new role and responsibilities during the coming months. May God grant him wisdom and a heart that would seek justice and peace for all.

Thursday

Pray for the pastors of churches as they seek to advise and to counsel members of their congregation who come under threat. May God grant them His wisdom.

Friday

Pray for the large urban ‘Mega Churches’ that they may be moved to support and serve the more remote and rural churches who face intimidation and attack.

Saturday

Give thanks for the impact that CSW’s human rights training has had
in strengthening the Colombian Church.

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalm 32:7

Provide

Empower the oppressed people of Colombia to speak up for themselves, by providing a day of training in how to document and report human rights abuses!

Colombia has the highest rate of disappearances and killings in the world, with 25-30 pastors killed every year. In the past few years alone, hundreds of church leaders have been assassinated. But in the midst of this terrifying and unstable situation, there are beacons of light and hope – brave people who set out to defend the oppressed! You can give them the tools to do this, by funding a day of training in how to document human rights abuses, work effectively with the media, and give religious freedom violations international attention.

Make a donation to support CSW’s work in Colombia and around the world.
