IRAN: Pete Greig, Premier Radio and World Evangelical Alliance support month of prayer for Pastor Nadarkhani  15/03/2012

As delegations from various countries raised Pastor Nadarkhani’s case at the UN Human Rights Council this week, statements of support poured in for CSW’s month of prayer for him.  Prominent figures from throughout the worldwide Christian community shared their support for the pastor, uniting in prayer for his release.

“Pastor Nadarkhani...deserves our most passionate prayer”

As the prayer campaign launched on 12 March, Pete Greig lent his support to Pastor Nadarkhani and the month of prayer, saying: “Pastor Nadarkhani  is a courageous leader who urgently deserves our most passionate prayers.  I therefore wholeheartedly support the campaign for his release and the month of prayer for him and his family.” Pete Greig, Alpha International and 24-7 Prayer

“Pray for him with all your heart”

Guest host at past CSW events, Pam Rhodes shared with us her heart and passion to pray for those who are persecuted because of their faith.  Writing to Special Ambassador, Stuart Windsor, she shared her commitment to pray for Pastor Nadarkhani.

“We are able to follow our hearts and worship freely in the west, a privilege we take for granted. That is not a freedom available to Pastor Nadarkhani and so many others like him.  His commitment to his Christian faith could cost him his life.  He needs our commitment as Christians to speak out for his cause, and pray not just for his life but for his release.  Prayer has infinite power.  Pray for him with all your heart!”   Pam Rhodes

“Don’t forget to pray for the persecutors!”

Those of you who have read the latest Response newsletter or Mervyn Thomas’ blog this week will know that praying for the persecutors is an issue that is close to his heart.  The message of support we received from Premier Radio’s content director reminds us that Jesus commands us to pray for those who persecute us.

“Christian Solidarity Worldwide do so much to ensure we hear the voices of those who suffer for their faith. I’ve learnt so much through their updates and my prayers go beyond the end of my nose. If nothing else, support  Pastor Nadarkhani and others like him with your prayers and don’t forget the persecutors!”  Charmaine Noble-McLean, Premier Radio
